MainStreaming has joined the OpenMOQ Software Consortium, an industry initiative developing open-source software to implement the IETF’s Media over QUIC (MOQ) and QUIC standards.
OpenMOQ brings together technology companies to build an open-source foundation for future media transport technology. MoQ is designed to support ultra-low-latency streaming while enabling efficient distribution to broadcast-scale audiences.
By joining the consortium, MainStreaming said it is committing engineering resources to developing open-source MOQ software – working alongside fellow OpenMOQ members on ingest, relay, and playback implementations that will support the protocol’s adoption.
