Doug Shineman, CEO of Streamwise, is joining Amagi to lead business development for its new analytics vertical.

“Our combined offering will help content distributors make smart decisions and scale their business in the streaming economy by saving content, sales, marketing, and finance executives from repetitive, manual, and error-prone processes,” said Shineman.

Amagi plans to offer Streamwise capabilities as a stand-alone offering to customers. Once it is integrated with the Amagi product suite in the coming months, customers will be able to additionally subscribe to Streamwise services.

The acquisition comes about eleven days after Amagi announced it had raised over US$100 million in investment from global growth equity firm General Atlantic. The company noted that the investment brings Amagi’s valuation to $1.4 billion.

Other investors include venture capitalist firms Accel, Norwest Venture Partners and Avataar Ventures as well as Premji Invest and Nadathur Holdings.

Baskar Subramanian, co-founder and CEO of Amagi, said: “We have set ourselves the ambitious goal of developing futuristic technology solutions that can help media companies deliver premium personalised content and engaging advertising experiences to their consumers. We believe that General Atlantic, with their longstanding history of helping technology companies build enduring models, is the ideal investment partner for this stage of our growth journey.”
