Set to make its first official appearance at IBC, IMAX says it is accelerating its expansion into the streaming and consumer device space. It will be showing a suite of products “that take IMAX visual quality beyond the theatre and into streamed and broadcast video playback on consumer electronic devices”.
Leveraging patented intellectual property acquired in the purchase of SSIMWAVE, the suite of AI-driven video solutions includes Stream Smart, software that overlays on existing workflows to help streamers encode smarter and reduce content delivery costs, as well as Live and VOD Monitor, two automated video quality assurance tools. Each product leverages the IMAX SVS (SSIMPLUS Viewer Score), an Emmy-winning metric for measuring the end-viewer experience.
