Merger anniversary marked by broadcast focus and new AI features

A year after the merger of ORS and Insys Video Technologies to form Big Blue Marble, the company is stepping up its push to combine broadcast expertise with streaming technology, while expanding its portfolio with new content protection and AI capabilities.

Krzysztof Bartkowski, CEO of Streaming and Cloud Media, Big Blue Marble, said: “ORS brought the broadcast perspective into the streaming perspective that Insys Video Technologies has, so we are definitely better together.

The company’s strategic approach has not fundamentally shifted over the past year, but it is increasing its emphasis on broadcast-grade delivery, alongside new AI features being demonstrated at IBC.

“We haven’t really changed our focus,” Bartkowski said. “We were rather increasing our focus on being broadcast grade throughout our offering.”

He also pointed to rising expectations around user experience, arguing that technology must ultimately serve customers rather than simply introduce new capabilities.

“The requirements from end users keep on increasing,” he said.
