Tech firm AI-Media is showcasing caption encoders that route live audio to the cloud and return captions in up to five languages simultaneously, with output that can be embedded into professional broadcast streams.
The company is shipping the new hardware this month after a soft launch at the NAB Show in April.
Kyle Phillips, VP America, AI Media, said: “We’re very excited about what live language translation can do, particularly with voice. We’ve now got this live in production, validated through people who’ve tried it out during the World Cup, and through other live sports and media productions. It’s ready for prime time.”
AI Media is also developing LEXI Insights, which will turn its growing volumes of captioned and described content into searchable, usable data. The tool will allow users to query archives in natural language and generate summaries or other content from the results.
Phillips said the development reflects a growing demand to automate repetitive media workflows while retaining broadcast-grade accuracy.
As well as the two LEXI encoders, AI-Media is showcasing the complete LEXI Suite, LEXI Direct for direct, programmatic access to LEXI, and an expanding ecosystem of technology integrations.
