The Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union (ABU) hosts its 14thDigital Broadcasting Symposium for 2018 which will kick off in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia this week. The event on enhancing multiplatform content boasts international speakers, an exhibition showcasing the latest technology and solutions from manufacturers as well as focussed workshops on the application and implementation of specific tech.

The Royal Television Society will host the creators of Netflix’s The Crown in a discussion in London. The event The Crown: From Storyboard to Screen will take attendees behind the screen with Director, Production Designer, Costume Designer, Editor and VFX Producer as they reveal how they brought the early reign of Queen Elizabeth II to the screen.

Company results
On Tuesday, software and services firm and the developer of Maya and 3DS Max Autodesk will deliver its latest earnings release. 

Comtech Telecommunications Corp will release its Q2 2018 earning on Wednesday. The equipment company designs, develops, produces and markets products, systems and services for communications solutions for global satellite, defence, broadcast and aerospace industries.

Technology solutions provider, Dell Technologies announced last week it is considering a reverse-merger for VMware Inc in which it owns 80% stake in, to become a public company after selling more licenses for its software products in the fourth quarter of 2017. On Wednesday it will release the Q4 2018 earnings for Dell Technologies.

On Friday, satellite communications firm Inmarsat will release its preliminary 2017 earnings statement. 

Film and TV releases
The much anticipated Marvel Jessica Jones season two will launch on Netflix on Thursday 8 March, as superhero-turned-private investigator returns with a new saga of events.

Hitting theatres Friday 9 March is Fantasy Science Fiction film A Wrinkle in Time starring Oprah Winfrey, Reese Witherspoon and Zach Galifianakis, based on the 1962 novel of the same name. It is estimated the opening week earnings will reach $35 million in the US and Canada.

In 1947, 6 March Actor and Director Rob Reiner was born in New York. Known for his work acting in Wolf of Wall Street, Stand By Me and American sit-com TV series All in the Family which earned him two Emmy Awards during the 1970’s.

In 1954, 9 March WMUR TV channel 9 begins broadcasting in Manchester, New Hampshire, US and WNBT-TV in New York City aired the first colour TV commercial.
