Avid Connect 2019  annual customer events returns this weekend before the NAB Show kicks off on Sunday. Avid Connect, which takes place on Saturday and Sunday, brings together users of the firm’s products for discussion about product roadmaps and case studies from customers. 

NAB Show exhibition and conference starts on Sunday in Las Vegas until Thursday 11 April.

Landing Festival in Berlin is a two-day event on Wednesday and Thursday for tech professionals with talks and workshops on the latest trends for the tech community. 

The European Council and Council of the European Union will host an array of media events from Monday until the 14 April. 

MEDCOM conference in Kuala Lumpur on Friday, Saturday and Sunday will gather academics, researchers, artists and activists in one place to share research findings and innovations in the field of mass communication. 

Film and TV releases

Action, adventure and comedy film Shazam! , starring Zachary Levi and Michelle Borth, hits cinemas on Friday. 

David Attenborough’s Our Planet is released on Netflix on Friday. It examines how climate change impacts all living creatures. 

Amazing Grace, the concert documentary of Aretha Franklin’s recording session at a Baptist church in Los Angeles in 1972, has been restored and is released on Friday.

BBC’s Born to be Wild first series airs on Monday evening following the work of Scottish SPCA’s remarkable wildlife team.
