Blue Billywig will use IBC2026 to publicise its status as a fully sovereign European video platform, with infrastructure, ownership, hosting and support based entirely within the EU.
The move from the Netherlands-based online video platform is aimed at European broadcasters, publishers and enterprises concerned that video data hosted on US-owned infrastructure can be subject to laws such as the US CLOUD Act, regardless of where servers are physically located.
Jeroen Meeter, CEO of Blue Billywig, said: “For too long, European companies have had to accept an uncomfortable trade-off: avail of the best technology, or keep control of their data, but not both. As digital sovereignty moves from compliance checkbox to boardroom priority, we wanted to give our customers a genuine choice, not a compromise.”
Blue Billywig said its end-to-end European infrastructure means customers can host, manage and deliver video content without their data leaving EU legal jurisdiction.
Storage, transcoding and delivery run exclusively on European infrastructure. The platform uses European cloud provider Scaleway for data storage and processing, and Bunny CDN for content delivery across European edge nodes. Its sub-processor list is limited to EU-headquartered providers or those operating under EU adequacy decisions.
