7Artisans’ 23mm T2.9 Explosive Bokeh Cine Lens is the latest addition to its Floral Bloom Art Cine Lens Series, which is claimed to manipulate focus “to warp reality and amplify visual impact”.
It joins the previously introduced 37mm and 57mm lenses, both of which are similarly purple and have a T2.9 widest aperture but allow users a wider cinematic perspective.
Designed for full-frame cinema applications, the PL-mount lens features a 23mm focal length with a 124° diagonal field of view. Its optical design promises to create distinctive bokeh rendering and artistic image characteristics. The Floral Bloom lenses are intended to intensify visual tension, create dream-like effects, or reveal psychological fragmentation.
The 23mm T2.9 also features manual focus and manual iris control, a 10-blade diaphragm, M72 filter thread, and a minimum focusing distance of 0.3m. It is a compact design that weighs about 396g, making it well suited to mobile filmmaking workflows.
