SMDV has developed Cine, a softbox that focuses rather than diffuses light, concentrating output, narrowing the beam and reducing spill for greater directional control.
It offers the reach and control of a reflector while still being fast to adapt to real production changes.
Cine uses certified flame-retardant fabric and a heat-conscious structure engineered for 5,600W fixtures. It can work across major third-party lighting systems thanks to interchangeable mounts that can be changed by hand without screws or tools.
Its deep profile creates a narrower, more focused beam than a conventional softbox, with more usable light retained at the centre and carried over distance. The reflective interior uses a diamond-pattern fabric designed to manage reflections from point-source LEDs.
Also new is Cine Bounce 220, a portable ceiling light – a large-format modifier that creates broad, natural ambient light without depending on the height, colour or availability of a real ceiling. Its expansive bounce surface produces a wide field, soft falloff, minimal hotspot and natural wrap across subjects and backgrounds.
