For the broadcast market, Huber + Suhner believes it is able to provide support with a wide range of connectivity solutions – notably, its RF-over-fibre distribution system, which it is demonstrating at IBC.
The company says that this is an example of how its expertise in RF and fibre can be combined into a reliable and consistent solution.
The system comprises the transportation of RF signals coming from different sources over fibre, enjoying benefits such as the small size of components, no electromagnetic interference, extended reach and super-high bandwidth. The company says that more than 80 separate RF signals can be transmitted via fibre, such is its bandwidth.
Enhancing the system, Polatis optical switches monitor and control the signals, allowing quick remote reconfiguration and diagnosis in a high-density, low crosstalk system for any frequency.
Huber + Suhner is exhibiting at IBC2019 on Stand 5.B14.
