Telestream’s Lightspeed Live Capture and Lightspeed Live Stream platforms now have added resilience, plus dual encoding and publishing, as part of a new live platform containing eight 3G-SDI I/O ports.

Protect and serve: A new, more resilient Lightspeed Live in use

Lightspeed Live Stream now provides system-level redundancy with standby channels held in reserve in case of hardware or software failures. This uses peer-to-peer implementation with no external arbitrage. Further resilience and efficiency is provided via dual encoder and dual publishing capabilities in concert with Unified Streaming and Akamai. This means content is assured to reach the origin server and CDN using an active-active technique to replace missing or damaged content.

The new, high-density 1RU Lightspeed Live hardware supports Capture and/or Stream products. It ingests SDI and IP sources, with SD/HD/UHD decoding/encoding to multiple outputs in many formats. It supports up to eight SD/HD/3G input channels or two 4K/UHD channels, with eight independent 16-channel audio processing engines.

Also new is Live Edit Sub Clipping, for fast sub-clipping of content from live or previously captured media. It uses an HTML5 Live Edit user interface with frame accurate editing via a low-resolution HLS proxy, and powerful metadata support.

Telestream is exhibiting at IBC2019 on Stand 7.C14 and 7.C16.
