The FM/RDS and MPX over IP product line is undergoing a big change: all established products like the C02 RDS encoder, S02 stereo generator or FMC01 MPX over IP codec will be replaced by the 4audio MPX series.
Due to a new software-oriented and Linux-based scalable concept, it’s possible for technicians and decision makers to configure the 4audio MPX as needed in just one 19in rack unit, saving costs and rack space. Essentially this means that the encoder, stereo generator and MPX over IP codec can be combined in one device.
Besides IP, transmitting the MPX signal via satellite is also possible. Consequently, operators can decide situationally to increase bandwidth economy or to establish source redundancy by forwarding the program via IP and SAT in parallel and switching to the best source available.
An optional satellite receiver assures further distribution. At transmitter sites, it is possible to add local RDS data to the MPX signal already assembled at the broadcaster’s main studio. Moreover, 2wcom’s 4audio MPX products support all common standards and protocols for AoIP streaming and include a selectable tuner module for monitoring of audio and RDS data or rebroadcasting the received programs.
