Richie Roser

Richie has been in the broadcast industry for over 20 years and has extensive experience with engineering and field operations. After leaving university in Southampton, he started a career with news operations at ATPN before moving to Formula 1 Management as a broadcast engineer, travelling the world covering F1 and the WRC. In 2001 Richie joined what was then ntl, later Arqiva and led the SNG engineering team. Richie was appointed operations manager responsible for a team of highly skilled individuals and a European fleet of SNG’s, and production SNG’s covering, amongst others, tier-one sports, light Entertainment OB’s and Pres Add-on’s.

After leaving Arqiva and spending several years as a freelance tech producer/project manager, Richie joined Globecast UK in 2017 and took responsibility for the SNG operations and successfully helped deliver many major projects such as the UK general elections, a royal wedding, and a royal funeral.

Richie joined ITN in August 2021 as head of field operations & connectivity (NOC, Network Operations Centre) and drives the technology strategy by aligning field operations with the right technology to deliver robust, cost-effective solutions for ITV, C4 and Channel 5 as well as ITN Productions.

Jonathan De Bolster, System expert, ENG & transmission, VRT

Jonathan De Bolster

Jonathan works as a System Expert for the department News Gathering and Transmission for the Flemish national television and radio broadcaster VRT. He searches and implements mobile audio, video and data connectivity solutions for productions, events and news with the focus on cellular bonding.

Before his broadcast adventure, Jonathan was active in the cable industry and performed certification tests, security research and penetrations tests for ISPs and cable modem manufacturers.

At VRT, more than 90% of the live interviews for news occur over bonded cellular encoders that make use of the publicly available telco networks, and more than a dozen news vans and OB trucks are equipped with bonding data routers, used for live streaming, surfing and remote office requirements.

Morten is a keynote speaker, organiser, and board member in serval international organisations: The World Broadcast Union International Media Connectivity Group (WBU-IMCG), EBU Technology 5G Content production and the IBC accelerator program for 5G.

Since 1989, Morten has worked with nearly all aspects of live TV production, as SNG operator, director, reporter, cameraman, editor, sound engineer and field producer.

He has worked all over the world with live TV production, including working 10 years on the Tour de France, Le Mans, the FIFA World Cup, European football, Handball, and the Olympics. His experience also spans events such as the Royal Jubilee and weddings, elections around Europe, Afghanistan and the US, the inauguration of Obama, the Eurovision Song Contest for the BBC in Tallinn and Riga, amongst others.

He supports multiple leading media technology suppliers on product and go-to-market strategy, and is advising leading broadcasters, streaming services and pay TV operators. Rob holds an MBA with Distinction from Imperial College, London.
