Dr Jordi Gimenez, research engineer, IRT
Dr Jordi Joan Gimenez is a research engineer at the Institut für Rundfunktechnik (IRT), the R&D institute of ARD, ZDF, DRadio, ORF and SRG/SSR.
He is currently participating in the 5G-PPP project 5G-Xcast, focused on the design and demonstration of the multicast and broadcast capabilities for 5G technology. He has actively participated in digital TV technical forums such as DVB and ATSC, and several EBU technical groups, on topics related to physical layer design and processing, and network planning of terrestrial broadcast systems. He is currently engaged in 3GPP working on the RAN optimization of eMBMS for Terrestrial Broadcasting.
Dr. Gimenez obtained a Ph.D. degree in Telecommunications by Universitat Politècnica de València (UPV) in Spain, where he was a Research Engineer at the iTEAM Research Institute from 2011 to 2018. He has been an invited researcher at the IRT (Germany, 2015 and 2017), the KTH Royal Institute of Technology (Sweden, 2014) and Teracom AB (Sweden, 2013 and 2014).

Marios Nicolaou, 5G and digital transformation senior strategy advisor
Marios Nicolaou is a senior expert on 5G business models and who they apply to various sectors and industries.
He has over 19 years of experience in Telecoms and Digital Transformation with an extensive career in companies like Nokia and Alcatel-Lucent.
His current interests include Industry Digitalization, New Media, 5G strategies, and optimisation of profit across the sectors.
He holds a BSc in Electrical Engineering from the University of California, and an MSc in Technology Strategy from the University of Southern California.
