3 Screen Solutions (3SS) was one of the partners involved in the launch of a hybrid Android TV service from Nordic pay-TV provider Allente via direct-to-home satellite, IPTV and OTT.
The launch was also supported by Broadcom, Kaon Media, and Nagra Media. The service will have a phased rollout throughout the Nordic region in 2022, starting with Sweden. PVR functionality will be rolled out later this year.
Allente continues to build on its first 3SS-enabled project, OnePlace, the satellite and OTT service that Canal Digital launched in February 2018. Allente was later formed from the merger of Viasat Consumer and Canal Digital in May 2020. The operator offers TV services and broadband to customers in Norway, Sweden, Denmark and Finland.
