Global video solutions provider Accedo showcased hybrid business model support for Accedo One that it said will enable customers to increase monetisation methods within a single video service, creating new ROI options for video providers.

Previewed at IBC, the feature will be commercially available from early 2023. According to Accedo, it will make it possible for any video service provider to launch hybrid business models, supporting both subscription and advertising in one video service.

As part of the development process, Accedo is working with a selection of subscription, entitlement, and ad partners to provide integrations through the Accedo One Marketplace. Marketplace partners in the initial launch include for example Cleeng, Freewheel, InPlayer, Aptitude and Springserve.

Accedo One is a no-code SaaS platform that is designed to enable companies to deliver impactful video experiences across multiple devices. It also enables video businesses to expand their services by integrating new features based on what their customers want and need.

Johan Alfvén, head of product management, Accedo, said: “Accedo firmly believes that hybrid business models will be the next wave of the OTT industry. This transition is being led by the likes of Netflix and Disney but will be relevant to any kind of video provider. With this update, we are launching the industry’s first product solution that can deliver this feature to any OTT service regardless of use case and size.”
