Infrared products manufacturer Ruwido Austria will be highlighting how it created a new product architecture for remote controls, claiming it is able to reduce CO2 emissions by 70% through what it describes as a “better world architecture”.

The company notes that sustainability cannot be achieved by marketing slogans and promises alone. “It was clear for us that an ecological product and design development, as well as an environmentally friendly manufacturing process has to be set up,” Ruwido said.

Pursuing a ‘better world architecture’ for remote controls

The company says this “better world architecture” combines “outstanding sustainability performance” with the “brilliant tactile feeling and haptic of a premium remote”.

It also notes that an integrated, patented new interaction mechanism makes video content navigation more accessible for handicapped people.

Ruwido declares that sustainability is not only a marketing slogan, adding “it is an attitude and mindset we have been following for more than 10 years now, using 100% renewable energy for our production.”
