Video streaming technology firm MediaKind has completed its acquisition of Harmonic’s video business, which provides virtualised broadband solutions, for $145m in cash.
The deal, which was first announced in December 2025, confirms MediaKind as one of the world’s leading independent video infrastructure companies.
The combined company has more than $100m in annual recurring revenue (ARR), and over $150m in annual appliance revenue.
It brings together the two companies’ offerings across SaaS streaming, appliance platforms, and cloud video technologies.
MediaKind will also be home to Harmonic’s Video employees.
“Bringing these two teams together under one roof is a powerful moment, creating a stronger, more capable partner for the media industry at a time of significant change,” said Allen Broome, Chief Executive Officer of MediaKind. “Outstanding technology, deep expertise, and a shared obsession with customer success – we’re ready to build something exceptional.”
In a statement, Harmonic said that the deal would enable it to concentrate resources and capital on its virtualised broadband segment, describing the division as the fastest-growing business within its portfolio.
"The completion of this transaction is a pivotal moment for Harmonic," said Nimrod Ben-Natan, President and Chief Executive at Harmonic. "We now turn our full focus and capital toward broadband, where our established footprint with the world's largest operators positions us as a leader in the industry's shift to virtualised software-defined broadband networks powered by intelligence capabilities. We are proud of the exceptional work our Video Business has accomplished and are confident they will continue to deliver the same innovation and dedication as a part of MediaKind."
LTN and MediaKind recently announced a strategic partnership to integrate MediaKind’s MK.IO Beam on-premise devices with the LTN Network, combining edge video processing with LTN’s global IP transport infrastructure. Discover more here.
