Has IBC come at a good time for the electronic media industry? Why is this?
IBC is the key market event for our industry, and the fact that the conference and exhibition has so cleverly evolved to reflect new trends and progress in broadcast technology is largely responsible for this.

M2A Media exhibits in the Content Everywhere Hall, which is an excellent example of this evolution. Established relatively recently, the Content Everywhere Hall is dedicated to next-generation technologies. And with the explosion of OTT services, which has brought with it a ‘golden age’ of content, a hub that brings together the technology companies and service providers at the heart of this revolution is particularly important.

What do you think are the key developments in, or threats to, your market sector at the current time?
Live IP workflows, remote production and AI/ML production tools are currently amongst the most exciting and widely discussed trends in the live streaming market sector. The growing adoption of public cloud for production workflows has really enabled and accelerated advances in these areas.

Once a live stream is in the cloud, for example, the use of AI becomes much easier. AI and ML can be used to find key moments for the production of highlights clips. Similarly, remote production can be used to produce multiple streams that can be tailored to individual viewer preferences.

These technologies are revolutionary for the production and delivery of live sports content. Not only do they present cost efficiencies, [they also] enable personalisation of sports content which is increasingly key to fan engagement and, ultimately, monetisation.

Why should delegates visit your stand at IBC?
M2A Media’s cloud-based live event stream orchestration is trusted by tier-one broadcasters, OTT platforms and sports rights holders to deliver reliable, low latency, highest-quality live streams to millions of viewers worldwide across any device.

Integration with our SSAI capability, Dynamic Content Insertion, means that M2A Live Streaming allows better monetisation and localisation, while our 24/7 London-based NOC gives security and assurance. This means that your live streams and, ultimately, viewer satisfaction are protected at all times.

Our acclaimed Live Capture service has revolutionised the way catch-up assets are created for live programmes – using the power of the cloud to create high-quality, frame accurately-trimmed digital assets from live SD, HD and 4K content.
