Product areas on show on the General Dynamics SATCOM Technologies stand range from its new EcoForce compact amplifiers, flyaway and small deployable antennas, to antenna control systems and GaN-based electronic products.

The company provides a range of medium and large fixed antennas for transmit/receive and receive only applications. The antennas are said to feature high antenna efficiency and excellent rejection of noise and microwave interference. They are available in a variety of sizes (3.8 metres to 16.4 metres) and frequency bands (C through Ka and Q/V) to fit the user’s application.

The ManPakT series of lightweight, flyaway products includes 13 tripod terminals with reflectors ranging from 60cm to 240cm. The units include simple manual or automated satellite acquisition, an intuitive graphical user interface, and a range of optional extras.

General Dynamics’ latest antenna control system, the Model 940A, is said to offer economical satellite tracking and control, and to be ideally suited for single AC fixed antennas. It includes an antenna control unit (ACU), internal tracking receiver (TRU) and a power drive unit (PDU). The Model 940A is backwards compatible with the company’s Model 7150 Power Drive Units and therefore, General Dynamics says, supports inexpensive upgrades.

General Dynamics is exhibiting at IBC2019 on Stand 1.A41.
