Netflix leads the tally of 2018 Emmy nominations with 112 nods, surpassing HBO’s 108.
The American Emmy awards bestowed by the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences recognises excellence in primetime television programming.
It is no surprise HBO’s Game of Thrones and Hulu’s The Handmaid’s Tale lead as the favourites for best Drama Series, nominated alongside Netflix’s Stranger Things and The Crown.
Grey’s Anatomy star, Sandra Oh, made history as the first Asian female to be nominated for a Lead Actress Emmy for new series Killing Eve.
The Crown’s Claire Foy is nominated for the Best Actress award alongside her colleagues Matt Smith and Vanessa Kirby, who were nominated for the Best Supporting Actor and Best Supporting Actress awards.
The 70th annual Primetime Emmy Awards will take place on 17 September.
