VBox to ship affordable Android TV STB

Due to be made available in the coming weeks, the VBox Communications Android TV Gateway is a versatile hybrid set-top-box (STB).

V-Box

VBox Communications describes the box as its “newest innovative and cost-effective solution for telcos, broadcasters and consumers”.

The STB runs certified Android TV OS, combining free-to-air live TV channels with OTT content and Google PlayStore apps. It seamlessly connects to live broadcast streams worldwide through a variety of TV sources (DVB-T/T2/C/S/S2/ISDBT/ATSC) and recasts content up to 4K to multiple connected devices simultaneously.

Capable of recasting live TV programmes to all connected devices, the STB is a whole-house DVR quad-tuner, which enables users to watch and record multiple programmes at the same. The content can also be viewed away from the device and on-the-move.

VBox Communications is exhibiting at IBC2019 on Stand 2.C21.
