ES Broadcast has bought 151 Grass Valley LDX-86N UHD cameras at the show, along with 15 Kahuna switchers, all of which will be used next Summer in Tokyo.

Rene Heuber, strategic channel director, EMEA, Grass Valley, said: “This is the largest single purchase of LDX-86N cameras in the world.”

Ben Murphy, ES Broadcast’s MD, added: “The 86N is one of the most advanced cameras on the market. We already have a significant fleet of UHD cameras and this is our next phase of development.”

Although the rental house has a mix of manufacturer’s cameras in its existing 220-camera UHD collection, along with Canon and Fujinon lenses, “we’re really comfortable with the performance and reliability of the Grass Valley cameras,” added Alan Henry, commercial director, ES Broadcast.

Grass Valley is exhibiting at IBC2019 on Stand 9.A01.
