A new X-keys USB controller designed specifically for instant replay has been released.
The X-keys XKE-64 replay controller features a fully customisable plug-and-play layout. The company’s vMix Pro and vMix 4K v22 and above production systems include a built-in template for the X-keys replay controller. The pre-configured control layout includes everything for the four camera replay capability of vMix Pro. All keys on the X-keys take advantage of vMix Activator features to display status with seven illumination options.
P.I. Engineering, makers of X-keys USB programmable control surfaces, said that replay operators can easily set in and out points and build play lists for highlight reels. An industry standard jog-shuttle control offers fast cueing to the frame, and a T-bar fader controls playback speed live in forward or reverse from 100% to freeze frame. Single key clip triggers instantly add the last 5, 10, or 15 seconds of live video to a playlist.
Additional functions are easily added to the controller by replacing the blank key blockers with accessory keys. New keys can be single, double or large 2x2 sizes. The new replay controller is designed to be a companion to the X-keys XKE-124 T-bar for streaming and recording sports at all levels. Pre-release units have been extensively tested by live streamers and broadcasters of high school and college sports.
