Olivier Thivolet, business development director at NXP, explained: “We’re presenting two kinds of applications; one is home entertainment. This is all about how to combine audio and video together in the same kind of device and also with the integration of the voice assistant as a smart remote-control system with the voice. Next to it we are presenting the solution for the home for the broadband gateway; so home network coverage using the latest network processors on WiFi – this is a partnership with Quantenna.”

The outcome of the partnership with Quantenna is the Spartan router, which is a premium WiFi 6 solution based on NXP’s Layerscape LS1043A quad-core network processor and Quantenna’s QSR10GU-AX.

Noy Kucuk, vice president of product management at NXP, revealed: “Spartan Router leverages NXP’s gigabit networking expertise and ON Semiconductor’s leading 8x8 WiFi 6 solution to bring enterprise-class performance to the smart home. It is also the first retail solution to feature an NFC reader, also supplied by NXP.”

NXP is also showing its i.MX RT106F solution. It’s a no-touch user identification for face detection, tracking, alignment and recognition for HMI on low-cost MCU.
