Professional broadcast equipment manufacturer ZyCast showcased a number of its latest solutions, including its 4K encoder, at IBC2019.
Suitable for live contribution and distribution applications, the ZyCast 4K encoder product offers real-time encoding with the HEVC advanced compression standard. According to the company, it delivers lower bandwidth utilisation and cost-savings while providing superior 4K video quality and motion fluency. HDR is supported as is video distribution over IP, DVB-T2 and DVB-C.
Other products on show included the Q4K-R1, which is a 4K to Full HD single-input MPEG-4 DVB-T modulator with 4K HDMI loop-through for local connectivity and IR return path. Incorporating an LCD menu display and great MER performance, the Q4K-R1 enables users to distribute any 4K source around a home or business over coax.
ZyCast says the modulator makes it possible to encode HDMI video and stereo audio signals to MPEG-4 DVB-T channels. It also allows the 4K content to be continued to the HDMI output for local TV/receiver requirements.
ZyCast is exhibiting at IBC2019 on Stand 3.A62.
