LED lighting specialist Rotolight has introduced two new video lighting kits for content creators and business users: the Ultimate Vlogging Kit; and the Video Conferencing Kit.

Rotolight: The new Ultimate Vlogging Kit in use

Consisting of Rotolight’s RL48 ring-light, mini desktop tripod and universal smartphone mount, the Ultimate Vlogging Kit ($89/€79/£66.65) is a lighting kit for content creators, makeup artists or YouTubers looking for high-quality lighting. It is quick to set up and helps fill in unflattering shadows and adds an appealing catchlight to add a sparkle to the user’s eyes.

In the configuration possible with the kit, the ring light can be used as a microphone mount (with the mic in the middle). There is an accessory bar for mounting the light and phone side by side (including the phone mount), and the mini tripod can also be used as a handle for hand-held shots. The kit includes diffusion and skin tone filters as well as a selection of colour filters to cover daylight, mixed and sunset shooting. It is powered by three AA batteries, giving more than four hours of continuous use.

The second kit has been created in response to the Covid-19 pandemic, which has fundamentally changed the way people communicate at work. Although physical meetings have largely been replaced with video meetings, it is still important to make a good first impression. The easy-to-use Rotolight Video Conferencing Kit ($299/€269.99/£208.32) has been designed to deliver this, and is based on Rotolight’s more sophisticated Neo 2 light with a height adjustable desktop stand with 360º ball head.

The dimmable Neo 2 has an adjustable colour temperature (3150-6300K), delivering powerful soft output (2000 lux at 90cm), with a Television Lighting Consistency Index rating of 91. It can be powered by mains or six AA batteries (up to three hours).
