ToolsonAir: Version 3.0 of justplay features full SDK support for qualified AJA and Blackmagic Design devices

New just:store 36 models are also available to complement its broadcast-optimised storage solution portfolio.

Version 3.0 of just:play and just:live has been partially rewritten to accommodate the advantages of macOS Catalina and ensure readiness for future macOS versions. Among many usability improvements, version 3.0 will feature full SDK support for qualified AJA and Blackmagic Design devices and introduce just:control as the new main user interface in order to unify the control user interface for both ingest and playout solutions. The first incarnation of version 3.0 will run on Intel-based Macs and support Apple Silicon M1 once all third-party components have been updated accordingly.

“The development efforts for version 3.0 of our playout solutions were concentrated on improving the user experience by unifying the control interface for all ingest and playout applications and elevate the core code basis to cope with current and future macOS released, in order to secure our current and future customer’s investments in our technology for years to come” says Georg Deisting, senior product manager playout solutions at ToolsOnAir.

The just:store solution range has also been extended with new just:store 36 models. “With up to 4GB/s sequential data throughput our customers can profit from a much faster RAID speed to connect even more play-out and/or ingest channels to the same storage. Using the same 4RU chassis as for the just:store 24, we have added an additional 12 bays on the backside of the chassis while maintaining the same form factor,” said Tobias Gotthard, product manager of just:store.
