Craig Rodgerson has been appointed Chief Executive of Foundry, starting immediately to lead the ongoing strategy and innovation for the creative software enterprise.

Rodgerson is former Divisional Director and CEO at Capita IT Services, the technology and software customer service provider. He replaces Alex Mahon who has joined Channel 4 as Chief Executive.

Rodgerson joins Foundry with 25 years’ experience across the software and technology enabled service industry and was responsible for growing Capita’s annual revenue to £252M which generated over a quarter of the Group’s operational profit for 2016.

Rodgerson’s milestones at Capita included launching new products to market to deliver growth through organic as well as managing mergers and acquisitions for the company.

In a statement, Rodgerson said: “I have spent the majority of my career building and delivering complex software solutions to a global network of clients, so I’m looking forward to leading the business as it continues its successful growth plans in such a rapidly evolving and innovative industry.

Foundry has grown into a global VFX and creative software enterprise to delivering award-winning visual effects and 3D content for the design, visualisation and entertainment industries. 

It has expanded into new markets with technology licensing deals across industry-leading customers including Disney, Weta Digital and Sony Pictures Imageworks.

Mahon has joined C4 with strategic, commercial and creative leadership experience in the media and technology sector. 

Since 2015, Mahon has been CEO at Foundry, a leading global developer of software to deliver high-end visual effects, 3D, virtual and augmented reality. It has offices in the UK, USA, China and Ireland – and works with clients across the entertainment, design and digital sectors including Disney, Sony Pictures, Facebook and Google.

Mahon will join C4 at the end of 2017, with an exact start to be confirmed. She succeeds David Abraham, who announced his intention to step down in March 2017.
