Marshall: Quick off the block – the new CV420-18x miniature zoom

The new IP models, the CV730-BK, CV630-IP PTZ, CV420-30x-IP and CV355-30x-IP cameras can be easily integrated into any IP-based workflow.

The CV730-BK PTZ camera provides up to UHD (3840x2160) video resolutions at up to 60 frames per second through IP, HDMI and 12G-SDI simultaneous outputs; the CV630-IP PTZ camera offers UHD at up to 30fps via IP and HDMI, and 1920x1080p (HD) outputs at up to 60fps through 3G-SDI; the CV420-30x-IP zoom camera provides UHD at up to 60fps through simultaneous HDMI and IP streams; while the CV355-30x-IP delivers HD at up to 60fps through 3G/HD-SDI, IP and HDMI. All four models offer 30x optical zoom range.

“As IP-based workflows start to replace SDI, these new IP cameras are an exciting addition to the Marshall camera family,” said Tod Musgrave, director of cameras, Marshall Electronics.

All four cameras have a next-generation 8.5-megapixel image sensor, with the CV730 having the largest size sensor at 1/1.8in. Power can be supplied over Ethernet (PoE) or separately via a 12v power supply. Remote control and adjustment can be delivered using the same PoE input, or dedicated RS-232 (Cat5/6) using published Visca over IP commands. There is also a 3.5mm audio input on the rear panel that enables stereo audio embedding via AAC/G.711 encoding over IP with 44.1/48kHz sampling frequency on all models.

The CV730-IP supports triple stream H.265 (HEVC), H.264 and M-JPEG formats and will support the Secure Reliable Transport protocol, with an NDI model to follow (CV720-NDI) later in the year. The CV630-IP also supports the triple stream formats, along with SRT initially, with NDI to follow (CV630-NDI).

The CV420-30x-IP and CV355-30x-IP cameras feature IP Ethernet I/O ports supporting triple stream H.265/H.264/MJPEG video with MPEG-TS (SRT) and common IP control protocols. including Visca over IP, Onvif and Pelco, with power supplied over a single Ethernet cable. The two cameras boast improved low-light sensitivity for use in variable lighting conditions.

The new 4K CV420-18x and HD CV355-10x zoom block cameras offer ultra-low-light ability with flexible SDI and HDMI simultaneous outputs.

The CV420-18x features a compact 18x optical zoom block, with 12G-SDI/HDMI simultaneous outputs, with a 12.4 million-pixel 1/1.7in 4K (4096x2160p) sensor that can output at up to 60fps.

The CV355-10x has a 10x optical zoom, with 1/2.8in sensor, and 3G-SDI/HDMI simultaneous outputs supporting HD at up to 60fps. It replaces the existing CV350-10x camera and improves on every measure of performance.

Both cameras feature remote adjust and match settings via Marshall’s touchscreen RCP camera controller or through the company’s free camera control software. Remote adjustable settings include zoom, iris, white balance, exposure, pedestal and more, over long distances or during setup with capable auto tracking settings that track environmental conditions. The CV420-18x and CV355-10x include stereo audio embedding abilities and all usable frame rates on one model while adding 24fps and 23.98fps for dramatic capture.

The durable cameras are manufactured with a robust aluminium alloy body, full-sized BNC and HDMI connections, a locking I/O cable carrying RS485, audio and power, and side impact protection panels to secure cable connections.
